Research
This sections collects some information about my research activities in academic environments.
I carried out research on Shape Memory Alloys as part of my thesis for DL(Fisica) and for my Specializzazione in Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali (MSc).
I worked on piezoelectric materials and actuators for my PhD in Leeds. The main purpose of my research was to design, prototype and test a novel amplifier for piezoelectric actuators that would give at least 1mm displacement in about 1ms.
In Newcastle I worked for Newcastle University as Senior Research Associate in an EPSRC sponsored project to develop MEMS for harsh environments in SiC.
