Linux

A feature supporting Linux: a superb view of Antarctica with Tux and the caption 'Get a better Vista for your desktop'

Linux is much about freedom. Naturally, it's mostly people with a good degree of computer literacy who feel strongly about this aspect of freedom. To them, Windows is much like someone who tells you where to keep the phone on your desk.

Mind you: if a device doesn't work in Linux, you mustn't complain with the OS or its developers. Rather, the blame should fall on the manufacturer who, for possibly legitimate economic reasons, has decided not to develop drivers. Another fact to remember is that Microsoft may dictate to manufacturers what they should do (e.g. some PC manufacturers must supply and charge for a Win license even if the buyer already has a valid one).

These pages collect some 'discoveries' I made in my use of Linux

In case you missed it: Vista in Italian means view, as in "camera con vista = a room with a view"

I have a .svg version of this "advert" which looks great in Firefox. Afraid that it might be missed by IE users, I opted for the .jpg version...
